National Conference has emerged as single largest party with ten seats in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil,
while Congress was positioned at the second place.
The Council has 30 seats but the election is held for 26 seats. Four councilors are nominated by the state government and they too have the voting rights during a confidence or no confidence motion.
Out of 26 councilor seats for which results were declared today, National Conference was ahead of others by winning ten seats. The Congress followed it with its candidates emerging victorious on eight seats. Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP managed to win two seats while her former alliance partner bagged just one seat.
