Encounter breaks out in Anantnag

Srinagar, July 30:(GNS) Gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Kutto area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anatnag District on Tuesday. Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of Army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Kutto area. A senior Police officer told GNS said that while the cordon was being laid the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering an encounter. As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area. Till this report was being filed intermittent firing was going on.(GNS)

Gunshots heard as forces launch cordon and search operation in Bijbehara village.

Reports reaching said that gunshots were heard soon after the forces laid seige of Wopzan village of Bijbehara area of Anantanag.
